paying homage to my tattered shorts

Tis a sad day for me, while my husband rejoices.

I must say goodbye to my lovely work shorts.

The shorts worn while painting many rooms in many different houses, including my mom’s. They were worn as I weeded flower beds, scrubbed bathrooms, built several short retaining walls, and through my beginner woodworking projects. I have been wearing them during the current shower remodel.

The button has been missing for years, but I have been able to keep them up where they should be. The rips have enlarged with each project.

They are a testament to all the projects I am proud of.

Alas, they must go…

… my granny panties must not show.

About April

I'll come back to this when I find out who I really am. I've been through some extremely rough patches but they have made me a better person. I blog if my brain is functioning first thing in the morning.

Oh, so sad. I have paint clothes with the paint of many rooms on them. It’s actually fun to put them on and think of all the incarnations those rooms have had in the time we’ve lived in our house. A fond farewell to your shorts. Wow, that sounds weird!

They do look comfy!!!! Glad for the navy pair!!

  3. LOL – I had a t-shirt that I wore during my first pregnancy …circa 2003, I recently got rid of it at the sincere request of my husband. He started saying, “let it go — let it go.” LOL I loved that shirt but he was right, it was time to go.

Oh how sad to part with them. In my recent de-cluttering I found my father’s painting/ yardwork shorts. They were disintegrating so they had to go but it was sad to let them go; so many memories. In years gone by he would come every summer and paint fences and fix this and that.

What a sad farewell that is. I know this feeling well after having to throw my very worn and loved yoga pants away.

What colour Granny pants? If they were white, you could still keep the shorts. šŸ™‚
